Visiting the Local Area

Located on Highway 518, Sipapu is surrounded by National Forest, some of the most scenic areas of New Mexico and a handful of off-the-beaten path gems you won't find anywhere else. Take a drive and enjoy a few of our favorite destinations - all located just a few minutes from our resort:

Peñasco Theater: Located in the beautiful mountain town of Peñasco along State Road 75, the high road to Taos, the Peñasco Theatre was hand built in 1940. This unique theater hosts year-round arts programs including youth summer arts workshops, in-school and afterschool circus arts programs, circus classes for adults, community events, professional performances, and artist residencies.

Dixon Co-op Market: Located in the wonderfully artistic town of Dixon, this co-op is a fantastic stop to catch the local scene and pick up some fresh produce, too. Don't miss the Embudo Valley Public Library, located right next door - it's a true treasure.

La Chiripada Winery: Tucked away in Dixon, this local winery has been creating award-winning wines for over 30 years and is northern New Mexico's oldest winery. The local family produces over 20 varieties of wine and specializes in both regional and estate-grown wines that range from dry reds to port and crisp whites.
